  1. I am in awe of your quilts, I feel they may be over my head as I am a beginner however I did order your pattern and look forward to trying.

Thank you so much, Maxine Kelly

    • Maxine,

I don’t see that your order went through.
Please feel free to email me if you have any issues or questions regarding the pattern.

  2. Thanks for your instructions! I’ve been wanting to make something like this for a long time but didn’t know where to start. This has made me more confident that I can do this. I will be buying this pattern soon!!! You are very talented. Thanks again for sharing!!!

    • Thank you so much for buying the pattern. The instructions in the pattern are MUCH more detailed. I watched as people of different abilities made the quilt using my pattern in my studio so I could see if there were any parts that weren’t completely clear. However, if you do run into any problems, I am right here. Please feel free to reach out to me.

    • I am sorry, but there isn’t a quick answer for that. It depends on how big you make the blocks. If you use tiny blocks then you would need more yardage because you would need to make more blocks. More blocks mean more seams which would mean a higher percentage lost to the seam allowance.

I don’t have time to do all the calculations for all the sizes. I did one quilt with 2 1/4″ squares to make the disappearing 9 patch and the fabric requirements was 4 1/4 yards of each color. Larger squares will need less fabric.

  3. Fascinating! Kept seeing other arrangements. Have a bunch of six inch batiks calling . My iron went psycho yesterday. Have ordered a new one. The hour glass square is first on my to do’s as soon as my new iron comes. Also got a QAL going, so I’m itchy. Guess I’ll have to “neaten up. Don’t need an iron to do that, but neatening just didn’t feed my joy! 🤩

    • Hi,
Thanks so much for reading. I glad that you like the article. I love looking for different arrangements also.
I would love to see what you make.
